One of the perks of being a blogger is getting to play dress up. I got to do just that last week with the teams from Eco Peace, Miraclesuit, Magicsuit, Amoressa and Reebok! Our teen contributor Julia and I stopped by their showroom for an intimate look at the new collections hot off the runways from Miami Swim Week.
We were truly like two kids in a candy shop!
Two hours… and two hundred pics later, here are some of our favorite suits, along with our lovely Julia, who agreed to slip into a few of them for us!
Sandra Davidoff, Director of Corporate Marketing and Public Relations also divulged some of their swimsuit secrets and I’m sharing them with you! You’re welcome! Xx Sas
TM: What’s the best way to camouflage a camel toe in light colored swimsuits?
Davidoff: Its all about the fit, any color swimsuit will create the dreaded camel toe if it doesn’t fit. Make sure the size you are trying on fits properly. The leg opening should never be tight around your leg and the pant fits correctly hip to hip. All light colored swimsuits should have full interior lining to avoid sheerness
TM: How can we avoid a ride up sitch?
Davidoff: Again its all about the fit, if the suit is riding up, it does not fit. Go for a different size or try on another style. You have to have enough torso length and tush coverage for your body type.
TM: Have you ever done the hairspray trick (hairspray the suit to stay in place) on a shoot and does it actually work? If so, what hairspray was used?
Davidoff: On shots we never use hair spray to secure a garment. Butt glue or fashion tape works, however it cannot get wet. So if you are doing a lifestyle shoot, where you want the model immersed in water, the best option is to have a stylist that can do a quick mend on set
TM: How much butt is too much?
Davidoff: If it doesn’t look pretty, then it should be covered. (My favorite of the responses, lol)
TM: What’s the best way to get bronzer stains off of a white suit?
Davidoff: Stains on white suits are definitely tough to tackle. A small of amount of gentle detergent dabbed directly on the stain, let sit in cool water for a bit and wash by hand. Baby wipes are my go to as well. There are a number of swimsuit detergents sold that could also be an option.
TM: What is the hottest color trending in swimwear?
Davidoff: Splashes of citrus hues are strong, as well metallic. White is on fire, either a solid or base color; neutrals continue to be important.
TM: What is the best way to store your suits?
Davidoff: After each use, always rinse and air dry. Store your swimsuit like you would fine lingerie folded in a drawer.
TM: What’s the best advice to give for anyone shopping for a swimsuit?
Davidoff: Know your body type, understand what looks best on you, falters you and makes you feel comfortable and secure. Don’t buy a style because it’s the hot thing in fashion buy a swimsuit that will make you feel and look sexy, within your comfort level
Julia: The bathing suits from Miraclesuit are super cute! They’re perfect for hanging out with some friends by the pool, making a day trip to the Hampton’s, or even a long beach vaca. They have swimsuits to fit every age and each body type as well. My absolute favorite is the light blue bikini with the beaded high neck from Eco Peace. Check out my pictures above rocking the suit while boating. It is the perfect fit for me. Enjoy J
